On June 6, 2024, the world will mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, one of the most pivotal moments in World War II. This year's commemorations will hold special significance as they are the last major anniversary that will likely be attended by veterans of the Normandy invasion.
From June 5th to 6th, 2024, the King and Queen, along with other members of the Royal Family, will join in a series of major commemorations. These include the BBC Breakfast program broadcasting from both Portsmouth and Normandy on June 6th.
For the first time since its completion, the British Normandy Memorial will host a major British commemorative event. This memorial honors the sacrifices made by British soldiers during the Normandy landings.
