La Liga 2014-2015 Standings: Barcelona Crowned Champions

Messi and Neymar Lead Barcelona to Title Victory

Barcelona wrapped up the 2014-2015 La Liga title with a 3-0 win at Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday, sealing their 23rd league crown and extending their unbeaten run to 38 matches in all competitions.

Lionel Messi scored twice and Neymar added the other goal as Barca maintained their dominance of Spanish football, finishing the season with 93 points from 38 games.

Real Madrid Finish Second, Atletico Madrid Third

Real Madrid finished second on 92 points after a 2-0 win over Espanyol, while Atletico Madrid took third place with 85 points following a 2-1 victory at Levante.

Valencia, Sevilla, and Villarreal rounded out the top six, while Granada, Cordoba, and Eibar were relegated to the Segunda Division.

Barcelona's triumph was dedicated to their former coach Tito Vilanova, who passed away from cancer in April. The title was Vilanova's first as manager of Barcelona, having replaced Pep Guardiola in 2012.

The La Liga title is the first for Barcelona under new coach Luis Enrique, who took over from Gerardo Martino in May 2014. Under Enrique, Barca regained their attacking flair and defensive solidity, conceding just 21 goals in 38 league matches.

The title success also gives Barcelona a treble of La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League titles, a feat last achieved by the club in 2009.
